DESCRIPTION

The final project for the second-year of University, the University had teamed up with GameCity and had to create a game around a William Shakespeare play. We picked the Tempest since it gave us a huge island to explore and it also had magic elements in the story. In a team of four I was the level designer for the first level which was the beach area and the second second level which was a jungle/ woodland area

The first level was the beach starting area so I wanted to pull the player in and get them used to the world. I did this by making a village where the player had to walk across wood boards to search the houses for a key to progress.

The second level you were up in the trees trying to navigate this old village. I had already got the player used to walking across the boards in the first level so now I added in more height and the chance of the boards being able to fall. The inspiration for this area was the ewok village from Star Wars. This project was made in Unreal Engine.
